New materials & processes to meet the next automotive trends

Inspiralia is keeping up with what is new within the automotive sector in relation to advanced materials. The highly interesting use of plastics in the automotive industry was the focus at a recent conference in Boecillo (Valladolid), Spain.

The Technical Department at Inspiralia manages five main pillars; project & risk management, advanced materials, industrial design, electronic engineering and computational engineering. Thanks to our international network we have valuable access to best practices and the latest research results.

With the objective to augment their know-how on the capacities and applications of plastics, our technical managers Dulce Muñoz and Carlos del Castillo participated on the 13th this month at a workshop organized by BASF (Baden Aniline and Soda Factory), the largest chemical producer in the world, held at the installations of CIDAUT (Center for Transport, Energy, Research and Development) in Boecillo (Valladolid), Spain.

The possibilities that the material offers are extremely versatile as it was also proven throughout the day. Several innovative projects related mainly to the automotive sector were presented featuring the use of polyurethane, polyphthalamide, thermoplastic polyurethanes, natural plastics, and coatings.

BASF seeks to combine this versatility with sustainability, considering the aspects of toxicology and environmental impact. It goes hand in hand with the philosophy of Inspiralia and the challenges we face daily when assisting our clients with their new product development.
