European Union launches INNOWWIDE programme to help SMEs commercially expand outside the continent

Toro Ventures client company, Advanced Microturbines, wins first pilot to commercially expand to Peru

The INNOWWIDE pilot call intends to bring European highly innovative SMEs to the forefront of international markets by opening two calls that will allow them to conduct Viability Assessment Projects (VAPs) in cooperation with foreign stakeholders. It will, then, create the conditions to increase the uptake of European innovative solutions in markets outside of Europe. Two calls will be implemented with a total budget of 7.2M€, allowing to fund 120 VAPs (60k€/VAP), and targeting markets of developing countries, large emerging economies (Brazil, Russia, India, China, Mexico) and developed countries with the same allocation for each of these three country categories.

Toro Ventures, our strategic business consulting firm specialised in commercial expansion, has supported Italian client, Advanced Microturbines (AMT). Toro helped AMT in the ideation of their commercial project and in the matchmaking with a Peruvian partner, THEMMA. Toro’s deep market knowledge and its extensive network have allowed AMT to be one of the recipients of this new programme’s funding among almost 400 applicants from 35 EU and associated countries.

Last 31st of October, a member of the INNOWWIDE Consortium, Steinbeis 2i GmbH organised a gathering in Karlsruhe, Germany. The event focus was the internationalisation of European SMEs, and they invited three of the best INNOWWIDE winners. Advanced Microturbines was one of them, and they were given the opportunity to share how they are commercially expanding to Peru and other Latin-American countries. It was a very rewarding moment where they could meet other winners, get new ideas, and widen their network.
