Innovate UK works to find and drive the science and technology innovations that will grow the UK economy. It has become the primary conduit for UK Government to deliver R&D grant funding for UK-based businesses of all sizes. Now, they have announced three new competitions: Biomedical Catalyst, Smart Sustainable Plastic Packaging and Smart Awards.
The Biomedical Catalyst competition has allocated £18 million for companies developing innovative healthcare products, technologies and processes which address the prevention, earlier and better detection, diagnosis and/or tailored treatment for general diseases.
Within the Smart Sustainable Plastic Packaging call, Innovate UK will invest up to £7 million from disruptive solutions at commercial scale which approach the sustainability of the plastic packaging throughout the whole supply chain to fulfil the target agreed at UK Plastics Pact.
Under the Smart Awards call, there are £25 million of total funds available to be distributed among companies seeking to fund any game changing, disruptive idea.
