Adamo Robot earns CE certification, now full speed ahead towards the next

Certified conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards

As Adamo Robot passed the electrical certification tests earlier this month it makes it the first device in the world that will treat muscle pathologies individually through the use of air pressure with the support of thermographic and 3D images. The system provides the healthcare professional with objective data allowing diagnosis and treatment while shortening recovery times and access to data traceability throughout the treatment.

CE marking is a certification mark that indicates conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area. The CE marking is also found on products sold outside the EEA that have been manufactured to EEA standards. This makes the CE marking recognizable worldwide even to people who are not familiar with the European Economic Area. It is in that sense similar to the FCC Declaration of Conformity used on certain electronic devices sold in the United States.

Next stop Medical Device Class IIa

It is now already 2 years ago since Inspiralia decided to become part of the exciting project of  “combining robotics with the field of physiotherapy to increase excellence in treatments, improve patient healing times, and optimizing these”. The product caused quite the buzz among sanitary professionals during the international medical fair MEDICA in Düsseldorf last year and has since been tested with satisfactory results at the hospitals of the Sanitas Group.

Next on the agenda, and in collaboration with The Center for Biomedical Research of La Rioja (CIBIR), is a series of clinical tests that are being initiated at the San Pedro Hospital in La Rioja to obtain the certification for Medical Device Class IIa on a European level.  A number of patients will be treated for their pathologies with the first device created worldwide for this purpose.
